Three Headliners, Two Broadcast Blocks and One Midnight: Nashville’s Big Bash Sets Its New Year’s Eve Lineup
The first names are in for Nashville's biggest night of the winter. HARDY, Little Big Town and The Red Clay Strays will headline New Year's Eve Live: Nashville's Big Bash on Thursday, Dec. 31, when the city rings in 2027 from Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park, with more performers still to be announced.
When and where to watch
CBS will carry the show in two live blocks: 8 to 10 p.m. Eastern and Pacific, then 10:30 p.m. to 1:05 a.m. Eastern and Pacific. Nashville runs on Central time, so for the people standing on the mall that works out to roughly 7 to 9 p.m., then 9:30 p.m. to 12:05 a.m. The second block is built to carry Nashville's own midnight, with five minutes to spare after the clock turns. Viewers at home can also stream the show live on Paramount+ (Premium), and next-day streaming is planned.
Who is behind the camera
Robert Deaton and Mary Hilliard Harrington are executive producing again, in partnership with Music City Inc., the foundation of the Nashville Convention & Visitors Corp. Sandra Restrepo directs. Hosts were not named in the lineup announcement, and neither were details on how in-person access will work, so anyone planning to stand in the crowd should watch for official word from the organizers before building a plan around a particular spot.
A lineup with range
The three headliners are a useful snapshot of where Nashville stands. HARDY blends country with rock and has become a fixture of the city's bigger stages. Little Big Town is a harmony act whose catalog travels easily from a living room to a stadium. The Red Clay Strays bring a rougher, soul-soaked Southern rock sound that has been building a national audience. Put them in one broadcast and you get a night that runs from singalongs to a loud, late set, which is the kind of range a television special of more than four and a half hours needs.
