The Complete Nashville NYE Itinerary: From Dinner to Guitar Drop to Breakfast
Planning Nashville’s New Year’s Eve properly makes the difference between a chaotic scramble and one of the most memorable nights of your year. Here’s a full itinerary — from the afternoon through the next morning — built around how Nashville’s NYE actually works.

4:00 PM — Check In, Get Ready
If you’re staying downtown, this is when to settle in. Freshen up, layer up, and review where you want to be at midnight. Make sure your phone is fully charged and you have your ride plan sorted in advance.
6:00 PM — Early Dinner
Downtown restaurants fill up fast. Reservations are essential for NYE, and most restaurants offer prix-fixe menus. Popular options: Watermark (riverfront views), Deacon’s New South (Southern fine dining), Marsh House (local seafood). Alternatively, the honky-tonks on Broadway are serving food all evening, and the energy inside them from 6–8 p.m. is the best it gets before the crush hits.
8:00 PM — Early Broadway
Hit Broadway before it fully compresses. This is prime time to bar-hop, see early performers, and find your positioning for midnight without fighting through a wall of people.
10:30 PM — Get Into Position
Find your spot for the guitar drop. Countdown clocks are displayed on the main stage. The blocks nearest the drop fill up fast — be where you want to be by 11 p.m.
Midnight — Guitar Drop and Fireworks
Twelve minutes of fireworks, the guitar drop, thousands of people celebrating simultaneously. This is what you came for.
1:00 AM — Honky-Tonk Wind-Down
The crowds begin to thin. This is actually an excellent time to get into places that were packed at 10 p.m. Grab a late drink and stay as long as you like.
New Year’s Morning — Brunch
Biscuit Love, Milk and Honey, and the Original Pancake House are Nashville’s top New Year’s Day brunch spots. Arrive early — half the city has the same idea.
