TOP TEN PLACES TO VISIT IN NASHVILLE THIS SUMMER

Presented by Young Country/Pop Sibling Group, THE RUNAWAY HAMSTERS

With over a million views on their YouTube page and a substantial social media following, this effervescent group loves to visit Nashville. “When we’re in town, we’re always working whether it’s in the studio, doing interviews, taking meetings or writing songs, but there are so many fun and cool things to do here in Nashville,” says Riley Keen. Older sibling Isabella Keen chimes in by saying “you can spend all day exploring everything this city has to offer!”

With so much to choose from, it can be hard to decide what to visit or where to eat. We asked The Runaway Hamsters to share their Top 10 places that’s a must visit.

1. Nashville Zoo – Everyone loves the zoo, right? Boo at the Zoo in October is so much fun! We love visiting and seeing the kangaroos (you get to be in their enclosure). The bird exhibit is great as you can feed them, and the zip lines are so much fun. This is a great place to enjoy the outside and run around. We love it so much that we became members!
2. The Ryman – The history of the Ryman is off the hook amazing. It’s the home of the famous Grand Ole Opry. One of our favorite things we do each year is to go to Marty Stuart’s Late Night Jam during the CMA Fest. You never know who is going to show up. We have made some great friends there like the Oak Ridge Boys, and Dolly Parton.
3. Country Music Hall Of Fame – Everyone should go here. It is one of Nashville’s major attractions. The exhibits change and you can learn about all the different artists’ and even see their stage clothes…of coarse Gabby loved this part! We stood in the circle at the Country Music Hall of Fame Rotunda and looked around to see all of the artists who have been inducted. It’s just so cool.

4. The Parthenon – It’s like going to Greece but in Nashville. It’s the “Athens of the South.” It’s HUGE!!!! We filmed our first video here and it was such a fun time. All four of us held hands and we were able to fit around one of the columns….that’s big! This is right in Centennial Park, Nashville’s favorite green space.
5. Maniacs – This is one of our “must go to” places whenever we are in Nashville. They are located in Brentwood and they have the BEST chicken and salads…and the nicest people own it. And you never know whom you might meet. Last time we were there we met Michael Tait…and YES…he is the nicest guy.
6. J. Alexander’s – Their food and service rocks. We love to get a round table and just talk about our music and laugh. It’s a great place to come up with songs and we have even written some lyrics there. It’s usually always busy but they never make you feel that way. The Key Lime Pie is the bomb.
7. Mike’s Ice Cream – After we finished filming our first video “Hamsters in the House” with Roman White (Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood), he took us into Mike’s and rewarded us for working hard! He’s knows us too well.

8. The Bluebird Café – This is one of our favorite venues we have ever played. There is something magical about the Bluebird and it’s an honor to be able to play there.

9. Three Ring Farm -This is one of the coolest farms in College Grove! We filmed our video “A Little Country” there. We fell in love with the farm, all the horses and the puppies. We have gone back just to visit because we love it so much. One of the coolest things we saw was when we finished shooting the music video, it was late and it was getting dark. As we drove away you could see a whole field of fireflies that lit up the night! We don’t have them in Idaho so for us it was super cool.
10. Ernest Tubb Record Shop – Cool, funky and sometimes they have amazing artists playing. We have been fortunate enough to see Vince Gill, Eric Church, Brothers Osborn, Charlie Worsham, Brandy Clark, Derek Wells and many others perform there.
The Runaway Hamsters have performed from Nashville to LA, opened for Andy Grammer, been nominated twice for a Grammy in the children’s category, took part in The National Finals Rodeo Cowboy Christmas in Las Vegas for the past two years, played the famous Bluebird Café in Nashville, took part in CMA Music Festival, been featured on numerous TV networks and media outlets and is currently gearing up to release a brand new album late summer.
This group consists of Isabella and her triplet siblings — Abby, Gabby and brother Riley. Best known for their musical youth and huge hearts, they create music that is original, engaging and heartfelt. Their last radio release, A Little Country, was the title track off their second EP which was produced by Grammy nominated Kent Wells (Dolly Parton). The official music video was directed by three time Emmy award-winner Roman White and made its broadcast debut on Great American Country, its online premiere on Country Rebel and was also played on numerous TV affiliates world-wide.
