Top 10 Bars in Downtown Nashville

One thing Downtown Nashville has plenty of is bars.  From local dive bars to some of the most upscale and trendy bars around, Downtown Nashville has something for everyone.  Below is NashVegas’ best bars list based on user reviews.  Don’t see your favorite in the list?  Add it in the comments below.

10 – Bar Sovereign

Kicking off the Top 10 Bars list is Bar Sovereign.  This is a great little cocktail bar south of Broadway with a laid back vibe and wonderful cocktails.  They do border on more of a experimental side if you are ordering off the menu, and I’ve found that I just like simpler drinks.  The great thing about Bar Sovereign is that they make custom drinks and do a great job of creating something that you’d like so there’s something for everyone.  And yes, you can be super lame and just get a beer if you want.

Note – Bar Sovereign definitely epitomizes the phrase “hidden gem,” emphasis on the hidden part.  The outside of the bar is not clearly marked and the bar is in unassuming area of Nashville, but don’t let that scare you away – it’s well worth the navigation.

I loved the anticipation of what we might find once making it to Bar Sovereign. Almost felt like we were entering a secret club or something. Once we were in, I was blown away with the decor and laid back vibe. Loved the ambiance. Relaxing yet hip. Our bartender was good & made our drinks with fresh ingredients that tasted delicious. This bar tops the list for us in Nashville. – Cassie Scott, Facebook

9 – Yazoo Brewing Company

Yazoo has been around since 2003 and has become quite the Nashville favorite.  The brewery tour is pretty sweet, you can see how a small scale operation progresses through the ranks of craft beer production.  Yazoo has many staples like their Pale Ale (which is amazing), Dos Perros, a Mexican amber beer, and their Hef.  The Tap Room is great to take friends who come in town for visits, however it can get a bit crowded.

Functionally the largest and most well known craft brewer in Nashville- this is what folks probably say when they think craft beer in Nashville. And the reputation is well deserved, because the beer is excellent. The only downside is the taproom often lacks enough seating, but the beer more than enough makes up for it. Plus, if you’re on a brewery crawl, they’re within easy walking distance of 4(!) Other craft brewery taprooms! A must see here in the Music City. – David Subak, Google

8 – Tennessee Brew Works

Great brews, a delicious food menu, live music, patio seating, and awesome service are what put Tennessee Brew Works in our Top 10 Bars list.  Nice location and bigger than some of the other breweries in Nashville. Their Beer Tour is a basic overview of the brew process down to bottling. Great location for hanging out, listening to live music and playing darts.  When doing your local brew tour in Nashville, make sure to add Tennessee Brew Works to your list.

7 – Primings Cigar Lounge And Bar

Coming in at #7 is not only an awesome bar, but also an amazing cigar lounge.

These guys up here REALLY know their stuff. Excellent cigar selection and the bar was very carefully selected. There are so many good whiskeys and rums to choose from. The place is always clean and the place in general is very easy on the eyes. 5 stars for me and my choice first in Nashville for a drink and cigar. – Matt Morrissey, Facebook

1 – The Stillery

Not only is The Stillery an awesome local bar, but it made out Top 10 Downtown Restaurants list too!  The Stillery is the kind of place you can relax, eat outstanding, fresh food, and enjoy a signature mason jar cocktail.  Definitely a great location – it is close to the action but still away from the craziness.  Only downside is there’s no beer on tap, but don’t worry they have plenty of bottled beer.  If beer is not your taste, then go for one of the mason jar cocktails.  They’re yummy!

My other half and I came here while we were visiting for Nashville’s famous hot chicken that we had been hearing about. The Stillery did NOT disappoint!!! – Alyssa C., Yelp
