Nashville’s National Public Lands Day Volunteer Event

How would you like to spend a Saturday morning getting to know Stones River National Battlefield and the Stones River Greenway by working to remove trash and invasive exotic plants from these special places? Stones River National Battlefield and more than a dozen local partners call upon our friends and neighbors to join us at the park’s McFadden Farm Unit (2600 Van Cleve Lane) on Saturday September 28, 2019 for National Public Lands Day.

More than 170,000 volunteers throughout the nation will visit their favorite parks, beaches, wildlife preserves, or forests and chip in to help improve these treasured places. They’ll be taking part in the 26th annual National Public Lands Day (NPLD), the largest single-day volunteer event for public lands in our country.

Lunch will be provided by Walmart and the Friends of Stones River National Battlefield.

WHAT: We will remove invasive exotic plants and trash at along the banks of the Stones River.

**Volunteers should wear closed toe shoes and long pants. We also suggest you wear or bring a long sleeve shirt, water bottle and work gloves.
