New country and bluegrass festival, Lynchburg Music Fest, announced that alcohol will be served on festival grounds.
A Festival Permit has been tentatively approved by the Tennessee Alcoholic Beverage Commission (TABC) for the festival on August 23 and 24. TABC is the legal entity that controls all alcohol sales except for beer within the state of Tennessee. The TABC Festival Permit allows Lynchburg Music Fest to serve non-beer alcoholic beverages — liquor and wine — inside the secured and controlled event location during the festival only. Beer will not be permitted at the festival, as that is controlled by the county.
“Lynchburg Music Fest is located in a historically dry county, so we’re very excited that we’ve been granted a festival permit for the occasion,” said Jonny Hill, Founder of Lynchburg Music Fest, and Owner and CEO of Igniter Productions. “Lynchburg has a rich history of whiskey distilleries, and this permit allows our festival-goers to truly experience the meaning behind our tagline, ‘Where Music Meets Whiskey.’”
In addition to alcohol sales, Lynchburg Music Fest brings more major updates to the town of Lynchburg. The festival grounds, located in historic Wiseman Park, have undergone extensive renovations including a completely new baseball field, refurbished playground equipment, landscaping, building improvements, graveled walkways and infrastructure additions. All renovations were made possible with a $35,000 donation by privately-owned, Igniter Productions.
“The renovation of Wiseman Park is not just for Lynchburg Music Fest; we see this as an important investment in the community and another way for us to give back to Lynchburg,” said Hill. “We’re very pleased to support the improvement of the park and we’re excited about the positive impact it will have on the community for years to come.”
The two-day music festival will take place this month, August 23 and 24, in downtown Lynchburg, with Easton Corbin to headline night one and Jamey Johnson to headline night two. Other confirmed artists include Sam Bush, Craig Campbell, David Lee Murphy, Joe Diffie, Keith Anderson, Montgomery Gentry, Cassadee Pope, and RaeLynn, bringing multiple stages of country and bluegrass music to South-Central Tennessee.
Single-day tickets are available for purchase online at Lynchburg Music Fest’s official website, on-site at the festival, or at American Craft Distillers in Lynchburg. Tickets may also be purchased at the Jack Daniel’s Distillery. Passes purchased online start at $70 for Friday and $90 for Saturday, with gate prices increasing to $80 and $100. In addition to single-day passes, festival-goers can purchase general admission weekend passes and VIP packages that include whiskey tastings on-site.
Sponsors for the event include Jack Daniel’s, Coca-Cola, Lynchburg Winery, First Vision Bank, Flex Up Fitness, American Craft Distillers, CrossFit 931, First Bank, Lynchburg Cigar Co., Rick’s Barbecue, XP Services, BBQ Caboose, Adventurous Soul Travel Agency, Barrel House BBQ, Henry & McCord Law Offices and Miltec Rapid Manufacturing Systems.
