Jami Averwater Announces Campaign for Nashville City Council
Nashville business owner and attorney Jami K. Averwater announces her candidacy for Nashville City Council. She will appear on the ballot in the upcoming city election on August 4, 2022.
Jami Averwater co-founded Hywater Title and is honored to be at the closing table with clients throughout Middle Tennessee. As a small business owner, Averwater understands the important role local businesses play in strengthening our community.
“I am running for City Council to fight for low taxes, fiscal responsibility, and a safe and secure community for all Nashville families.” Averwater said. “I look forward to sharing my vision for Nashville throughout my campaign.”
Averwater is a life-long Rutherford County resident and lives in Nashville with her husband, Andrew. She currently serves on the City of Nashville Planning Commission, the Advisory Board of Nurses for Newborns of Tennessee, and the Webb School of Bell Buckle’s Alumni Board. She previously served on the City of Nashville Urban Environmental Commission.
Averwater is a graduate of the economics program at Middle Tennessee State University and received her law degree from Belmont University College of Law.
Three of the six City Council seats are up for election.
