Feeling OVERWHELMED?
Power Together TN is listening to your needs. This meeting is for activists, organizers, and participants, who want to learn how to stay effective and sustain our long term involvement in social justice movements.
If you feel anxious, depressed, or overwhelmed — this meeting is for you. If you want to ensure that you can manage activist related anxiety and other concerns if they should affect you or your friends — this meeting is for you.
We have invited Melanie Sudbury, a local mental health professional and PTTN activist, to come share tips on taking care of yourself and your friends during these overwhelming times. We will focus on warning signs of depression, anxiety, and stress as well has tools to alleviate them. Screening tools will be available, as well as a guide to optimal selfcare techniques. This meeting has been designed to specifically address the tools, strategies, and methods you can use to keep your sanity while fighting for Justice. There will be discussion and Q&A. You will be with friends and allies who are facing the same challenges and struggles as you. Please come! <3 This meeting will also include brief report backs from teams, updates on actions, calendar of events, postcard writing, and opportunities for you to get involved in Power Together Tennessee, Nashville Support Alliance, Indivisible, and other #resistance groups. The space holds 30-40, so please rsvp in order to reserve a spot! We will take up a donation to cover room rental cost of $50, so bring a couple extra dollars if you can! If you can't, no problem! The meeting takes place at Gondolier Restaurant in the private banquet room where we can have lunch and drinks. Please message if you need assistance to participate in this Self Care Session. Please do not allow lack of lunch funds to keep you from attending! We will all share, that's what community is about. Can't wait to see you all! Let's stay United, Healthy, and Determined. #PowerTogetherTN #IBelieveWeCanWin
