Radnor Lake Night Hike with a Ranger
Radnor Lake is a different park after sunset, and Ranger Paul Schauer's night hike is the way to see it. The route runs roughly two and a half miles — Spillway Trail, Lake Trail, and Otter Creek Road — and takes about two hours, with the animals that only come out after dark as the draw.
Be honest with yourself about the distance before you sign the family up. Two and a half miles in the dark is a real hike, and it suits older children far better than toddlers. For a kid who is into wildlife and old enough to keep the pace, it is a standout night.
