A Country Christmas at Gaylord Opryland

If you are looking for the one holiday outing that keeps every age in your crew happy, this is the heavyweight. From early November through the first weekend of January, the resort turns into a full indoor Christmas village, which is the part parents appreciate most – the weather simply stops mattering.

The signature attraction is a walk-through hall of hand-carved ice sculptures, this year built around the story of Home Alone. It is genuinely cold in there and parkas are provided, so dress the kids in layers underneath. Alongside it you will find a new holiday cirque production with acrobatics and live music, a gingerbread decorating corner where children build and then eat their own creation, and photos with Santa.

A few practical notes: attractions are ticketed individually and bundles save meaningfully if you plan to do more than two, December weekends fill up fastest, and the atrium walkways and light displays are free to wander if you only want to soak up the decorations. Strollers are easy here – it is all flat, indoor and climate controlled.
