Dweezil Zappa brings new tour to TPAC

Dweezil Zappa will perform his father’s entire “Hot Rats” album in sequence live on stage when he comes to Music City on Sept. 18 as part of his Hot Rates Live! Plus Other Hot Stuff 1969 World Tour at Tennessee Performing Arts Center’s Polk Theater.

Tickets for Dweezil Zappa are on sale now at TPAC.org, by phone at 615-782-4040, and at the TPAC Box Office, 505 Deaderick St., in downtown Nashville.

Zappa and his “rocking teenage combo” will perform a DNA audio stage recreation of “Hot Rats” and other “Hot Stuff” as part of his 2019 tour. The album played a pivotal role in establishing Frank Zappa as a composer and guitarist and was also dedicated to Dweezil upon its release in 1969. The 50-year-old album will be surrounded by an assortment of other psychedelic, avant-garde, odd-metered toe tappers well known to Zappa aficionados.
