Clint Black Honored with CRB Career Achievement Award at CRS 2026
Country Radio Broadcasters (CRB) proudly recognized country music icon Clint Black as the recipient of the 2026 CRB Career Achievement Award during Bob Kingsley’s Acoustic Alley at Country Radio Seminar (CRS) 2026. During his Thursday performance, Black was surprised with the honor by 2018 recipient Steve Wariner.
The CRB Career Achievement Award is presented to artists who have made significant contributions to the development and promotion of country radio and country music through leadership, engagement, and creativity. Other past honorees include Keith Urban, Rascal Flatts, George Strait, Randy Travis, Vince Gill, The Judds, and Merle Haggard.
A trailblazer whose influence helped define the modern era of country music, Black’s contributions extend far beyond his chart-topping success. With 22 No. 1 singles, each of which he played a role in writing, and more than 20 million albums sold, Black has spent over three decades not only entertaining audiences, but also giving back in ways that reflect his enduring commitment to community and philanthropy.
“Clint Black’s influence on country radio and the genre as a whole is both profound and enduring,” says RJ Curtis, CRS Executive Director. “From the very beginning, he helped shape a pivotal era in country music, and his commitment to songwriting, artistry, and connection with fans and radio continues to set a standard. We are proud to recognize him with this year’s Career Achievement Award.”
Black’s career has been marked by both artistic excellence and industry leadership. His debut album, Killin’ Time, released in 1989, produced five consecutive No. 1 singles on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart and helped usher in the genre’s ’90s boom. Over the years, Black has received numerous honors from the Country Music Association (CMA), Academy of Country Music (ACM), GRAMMY Awards, and American Music Awards. Most recently, he was recognized with the prestigious BMI Icon Award, celebrating his lasting influence as a songwriter whose work has shaped generations.
